Let Go of Worry!

A dear friend of mine who I met on Google+, +Ben Brady, shared a passage of scripture with me that I've been trying to live out for a while now.

Matthew 6:25-34 - 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
This passage of scripture reminds us of something so wonderful!!! We are LOVED by the creator of the UNIVERSE!! God himself loves and cares for us insomuch that we will always have the things that we need! Notice I did not say the things we want, but rather the things we NEED!

The problem is, we're "worry warts". Have you ever heard that saying before? Usually it's used to describe a great-grandmother who worries about every little thing and every little blemish on your body, or a great-aunt worried about the weather every waking second of life. We call those people worry warts. However, we're quick to worry about finances around bill time. "Oh, how will we ever pay all the bills this month," is a phrase used most frenquently. Let's ponder over this passage for a bit especially over verse 33.
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
What if instead of worrying we just lived out this verse? What if instead of spending our time wondering if the bills were going to get paid, we spent time about God's business? Wonder what our lives would be like? The passage says itself that not one second of life can be added if we are constantly worrying, so what if we just let it all go? I believe we would see God move DRASTICALLY in our lives!

I pray that my readers begin to understand one thing. JESUS LOVES YOU!! If he loved us enough to DIE for us, don't you think he can take care of our little problems in life?

Would you consider yourself a "worry wart"? Are there things that you just need to let go of and trust God?
